Monday Mindset (1/22)
Your environment
I find myself distracted by my environment. Where I am now is not conducive to what I want to accomplish and the life I want to lead. So once again, I will move. I say 'once again' because I have moved seven times in the past five years. From DC to FL to PA, then a few times from house to apartment to condo. But this condo is not cutting it and I spend alot of time looking at listings and finding neighborhoods where I could live.
I am not comfortable and it is affecting my creativity. Because I am not comfortable, I am not entertaining. Because I am not comfortable, I am not spending time at home or finishing some projects. It is a never ending cycle that I am in the wrong place. And this is a lovely condo in a sought after location. It is just not right for me.
Environment is important because it affects your mood and your perspective of who you are, what you are doing and what is possible. Because of physical constraints, I am limiting myself. I know this. It is all part of the living the life that you want to live and having the pieces in place to support it. For instance, I like to travel and wanted the convenience of locking up and leaving with minimal concerns. This place provides that. It also served as a single story option for recovery from knee replacement surgery. But now, I find that I need something different.
When I am not in the right place, my body reacts. I can feel this each day as I sit in my office. I have it decorated as I like, but it is not helping my mood or my creativity. It's fine, but not moving me forward. That is the bottom line of the space not serving what I need. My space and I are not aligned.
Until I find a space that invigorates me and that supports the life I want, I will keep moving forward. I have a vision and will keep working toward it. I will enjoy the best parts of my environment and know that I am where i need to be right now, but that it will change.
