Control your thoughts/ Control your life.


There is a saying in reiki practice "Chi follows Energy. Energy follows thoughts.". Chi is life force energy. Life force energy is the energy that flows through you. It is your essence, your internal self. The second sentence tracks both energies back to your thoughts. Energy follows thoughts.


It is all in your mind to control. What you think is what you get. This is how people are taught or describe manifestation, mindset training, rebuilding self-esteem, etc. It is throughout the self-improvement industry, spirituality, self-help, etc. Even in mainstream medicine, positive mindset and seeing yourself as recovered is growing in acceptance.


Training your mind to visualize what you want with clarity and holding that vision is a super-power. It is visualization in your 'mind's eye' of what you want and seeing yourself having it. See it as a completed action, not something in the future or hypothetical or wouldn't it be nice if - type of thing. See your desire as here and now and live life as if has been achieved. There are many deeper principles, laws, etc. around this too, but the first step is starting to train your mind.


And that also means cleaning out garbage and limiting beliefs to make room for your positive thoughts. This is hard! But there are exercises to do to reprogram the way you think. I've blogged about the Emotional Guidance Scale before and will add the following:


  • When you catch yourself having a defeatist thought, STOP and re-phrase it to an empowering thought.
  • Repeat your positive messages to yourself throughout the day. Come up with what you want to believe about yourself (ex: I provide services that improve the lives of those who I work).
  • Write down your defeatist thought and keep re-writing it until you can turn it into an actionable, favorable statement. Remove any negativity around your thought.


When you think you are a success, in shape, loveable, etc. and you start to believe it and internalize it, the energy will flow toward that thought and you will become it. You are opening for the opportunity to come to you/ to find you. This is why we see athletes with that "million mile stare". They are visualizing their winning performance. Learn to do this and you'll be a winner too.
