The Right Tools

I watch way too many home remodeling and cooking shows for creative ideas. On these shows, everything is always so easy. The ingredients, tools, materials, parts, etc. are always on hand and ready to go. It got me thinking about how having the right tools makes such a difference with the ease of execution and the ability to get things done.

We see this in business very clearly. If there is not a solid work environment with the right technology, processes, and resources, the work does not get done. When we have to struggle to find the information, progress is slowed. When the groundwork is not properly laid, it is an uphill battle to reach completion. The tools come in many shapes: fast internet, software, workspaces, colleagues/partners, up-to-date skills and knowledge, processes, templates, professionalism, personal characteristics, etc. - - all tools of business.

Having a business coach is another tool for savvy business owners. The coach is the pillar that will help you achieve clarity of actions, stay on track, identify and reach your goals. A coach is a sounding board with no vested interest except to draw out the best in you and help to uncover what is holding you back.
